Dream Islands are special, randomly generated resource hubs in Pokémon Pokopia. They are the absolute best way to gather materials daily without grinding your main island. From rare ores to the elusive Stardust, knowing how to navigate these islands is key to late-game progression.
How to Unlock Dream Islands

Before you can fly off to these islands, you need a ride. That ride is Drifloon.
- Find Drifloon: Head to the western beach of the Withered Wasteland early in your adventure.
- Build its Habitat: Talk to Drifloon and then unlock the Riding Warm Updrafts habitat.
- Requirement: You'll need 3 Campfires to complete the habitat.
- Befriend: Once the habitat is done, Drifloon is officially on your team and ready to transport you.
Visiting a Dream Island

To visit an island, you don't just talk to Drifloon. You need a Pokémon Doll.
- Place a Doll: You can place any Pokémon Doll anywhere on your island.
- Interact: Walk up to the doll and interact with it. Drifloon will appear and offer to take you to the corresponding Dream Island.
[!IMPORTANT] You can only visit one type of Dream Island per real-world day. Once you pick a doll and fly there, that's your island type until the next daily reset.
Dolls and Island Types
Each doll corresponds to a specific biome. Matching your doll to the materials you need is the most efficient way to play.

Dream Island Exclusive Materials

![]() Cotton Spores | Small, white tufts of cotton. Bring them to Hoppip! |
Dream Islands contain unique items that you can't find anywhere else. This includes Stardust, which you can use to create Star Pieces. Star Pieces cost a hefty 99x Stardust to make, but they give you something far more valuable—the gift of friendship! If you give a Star Piece to a Pokemon in someone else's town, they will give you a gift in return that you can take back to your world. Using the gift will spawn the Pokemon that gave it to you, so they can live in your town as well.
Dream Islands are also home to other unique items, like the event-exclusive Cotton Spores that Hoppip asks you to collect. These Cotton Spores can be used to purchase items from Hoppip at their Pokemon Center shop.
Other Unique Finds
- Fossils: Several types of fossils can be unearthed here, which can later be revived into ancient Pokémon.
- CDs & Tapes: Found in abandoned crates, these unlock new music tracks.
- Relics & Artifacts: Ancient items for high-value sale or decoration.
- Outfits & Accessories: Unique clothing items to customize your character.
Legendary Encounters
While extremely rare, specific Dream Islands have a small chance to trigger an encounter with a Legendary Pokémon. If you see an unusual weather effect or a large boss-like shadow, you might be close to finding:
- Raikou, Entei, or Suicune: Often found roaming the open fields of the Sky, Volcanic, and Rock Peak islands.
- Mewtwo: Rumored to appear only on the most difficult and resource-rich versions of the Dream Islands.
Tips for Success
- Inventory Management: Go with an empty bag! Since you can't access storage on the island, you'll need every slot.
- Gather Everything: Materials on the island don't respawn on the same day. Grab everything you see before heading back.
- Dismantle Buildings: You can dismantle small structures on the islands to get unique furniture items.
- Scout for Stardust: Look for glowing spots and breakable rocks. Stardust is essential for crafting Star Pieces and attracting rare Pokémon.
Daily Reset Rules
- Resource Reset: The layout and resources of the islands reset every 24 hours (real time).
- Multiple Trips: You can fly back and forth to your chosen island as many times as you want in a day to drop off loot, but nothing new will spawn until the next day.
Dream Islands turn the grind into an adventure. Get your dolls ready and start farming!
