Some Pokémon in Pokémon Pokopia appear naturally while exploring the island, but others only show up after players build very specific habitats. One of the most wanted examples is Mimikyu, the Ghost/Fairy Pokémon that disguises itself as Pikachu.
Getting Mimikyu is not complicated, but it requires setting up a special habitat called the Pikachu Corner. This guide explains exactly how to build the habitat and where to find the items needed to unlock it.
How to Make a Pikachu Corner
The Pikachu Corner is a simple habitat that attracts only one Pokémon: Mimikyu. No other Pokémon can spawn from it, and Mimikyu will not appear through any other habitat in the game.
To create the Pikachu Corner, players only need to place two decorations next to each other:
- Pikachu Sofa
- Pikachu Doll
Place both items side-by-side in your area. After a short period of time, the environment will trigger the habitat effect and Mimikyu will appear nearby.
The build itself is easy. The main challenge is unlocking the two Pikachu-themed items required for the habitat.
How to Get the Pikachu Doll
The Pikachu Doll can be purchased later through the Pokémon Center PC once it becomes available, but the fastest way to obtain it is by exploring.
Players can find one in the Bleak Beach region. Head toward the southern section of the area where an abandoned house sits on a small island.
If the player has already encountered Lapras and unlocked the ability to transform into it, reaching the island becomes much easier. Lapras allows safe travel across the water surrounding Bleak Beach.
Without Lapras, it is still possible to reach the island by carefully placing blocks to create a path. However, falling into the water will reset progress, so it requires careful movement.
Inside the abandoned house, players will find the Pikachu Doll waiting to be collected.
How to Get the Pikachu Sofa
The Pikachu Sofa is also located in the Bleak Beach area, but this one is hidden inside the ruins of the S.S. Anne ship.
Unlike the Pikachu Doll, this item is much harder to reach without Lapras. The ship is surrounded by water, so transforming into Lapras is strongly recommended before attempting the trip.
Once inside the S.S. Anne, explore the upper levels of the ship until reaching the area with the steering wheel. Nearby, there is a ladder positioned above two bookcases.
To reach it:
Place a block near the bookcases.
Jump onto the top of the shelves.
Climb the ladder above them.
At the top, players will find a glowing yellow Poké Ball containing the Pikachu Sofa.
Some later areas in Pokopia also feature a Pikachu Sofa already placed in the environment, but finding the one inside the S.S. Anne is the earliest way to unlock the Pikachu Corner.
How to Spawn Mimikyu
Once both items are collected, building the habitat is quick.
Simply place the Pikachu Sofa and Pikachu Doll next to each other to form the Pikachu Corner. After a short wait, Mimikyu will appear in the area.
Because this Pokémon only spawns from this specific habitat, building the Pikachu Corner is the only reliable way to encounter it.
For players trying to complete their Pokopia Pokémon collection, setting up this habitat early is the best strategy to secure Mimikyu as soon as possible.
