Squishy Clay Guide: How to Get and Use Bricks

Squishy Clay is a foundational material in Pokémon Pokopia, required for crafting Bricks and various decorative furniture. Whether you're repairing the Poké Center at Bleak Beach or building a Stone Fireplace for your house, you'll need a steady supply of this clay.

Where to Find Squishy Clay

There are three primary ways to obtain Squishy Clay in the world of Pokopia.

1. Breaking Clay Blocks

The most direct way to gather Squishy Clay is by destroying Clay Blocks found in the environment. These blocks are slightly lighter and browner than standard rock faces.

• Withered Wasteland Cave: Head to the northern cave where you first encounter Onix. Many clay blocks are located inside.
• Bleak Beach: This area is rich with clay. Once you unlock Bleak Beach through Trainer Rank progression, you can find blocks scattered across the shoreline.

[!IMPORTANT] You must use the move Rock Smash or Rollout to break these blocks. Ensure one of your active Pokémon has learned these skills.

2. Ground Pokémon Drops (Litter Specialty)

Certain Ground-type Pokémon have the Litter specialty, allows them to drop Squishy Clay over time in their habitats.

• Recommended Pokémon: Wooper, Clodsire, and Trapinch.
• Tip: Check your Paldean Wooper's habitat regularly for passive clay accumulation.

How to Craft Bricks

Squishy Clay cannot be used for construction in its raw form. You must process it into Bricks.

Process: Show your Squishy Clay to a Fire-type Pokémon with the Burn specialty.

The "Burn" Specialty

To make bricks, you need a Pokémon with the Burn specialty. Early-game examples include Charmander and Torchic.

Steps to Craft:

1. Hold the Squishy Clay in your inventory.
2. Speak to a Pokémon with the Burn specialty (e.g., Torchic).
3. Select the option "Make me some Bricks!".
4. You can convert up to 10 Clays into 20 Bricks at once.
