Raikou, Entei, and Suicune are among the most beloved Legendaries in Pokemon history, and Pokemon Pokopia does them justice by hiding all three across secret cave dens tucked inside Dream Islands. Unlike most Pokemon in the game, these three don't show up in a fixed habitat or through a straightforward story beat. Finding them takes preparation, the right Poke Dolls, and a bit of patience since their appearances aren't guaranteed every visit.

What Do You Need Before Searching for the Legendary Dogs?

Before heading out to any Dream Island, there are two requirements you need to tick off first.

First, you must have access to Dream Islands through Drifloon. You unlock this during the Withered Wasteland story arc. Head to the coast near the bridge leading to Palette Town, where Drifloon is floating. Build a habitat using three lit campfires and locate the Poke Doll on the opposite side of the Withered Wastelands to bring Drifloon into your village.

Second, you need to progress far enough in the main story to encounter Raikou at Bleak Beach. This story meeting adds Raikou to your Pokedex automatically, but it does not bring Raikou into your village. It does, however, appear to be the trigger that makes all three Legendary Dogs available on Dream Islands at all.

danger
Meeting Raikou at Bleak Beach only registers a Pokedex entry. To actually befriend Raikou and add them to your village, you still need to find them on the correct Dream Island.

Third, you'll need Cooking unlocked and the ability to make Hamburger Steaks, which boost Rock Smash. This skill is essential for breaking through the blocked cave walls where each dog hides.

Which Poke Dolls Do You Need?

Each Legendary Dog is tied to a specific Dream Island, and each island requires its own Poke Doll to access. You can find the Pikachu Doll and Eevee Doll in Bleak Beach, and all three can be purchased from the Palette Town Pokemon Center as your Environment Level rises. Glowing spots on the ground may also yield Dolls at random.

How to Find Raikou on the Ocean Dream Island

With the Pikachu Doll in hand, travel to the Ocean Dream Island. Make your way toward the central mountain and drop into the cave system at its heart. Follow the paths downward, and keep an eye out for an area lined with steel blocks featuring gaps in the wall. That blocked-off section is Raikou's den.

Use Rock Smash to break through, speak to Raikou, then return to Drifloon to leave the island. Before you go, grab the 3x Rare Pokemetal sitting on the pedestal behind Raikou. That material is genuinely useful, so don't skip it.

warning
Raikou does not appear on every visit to the Ocean Dream Island. If the steel-block den is absent, return the next day or adjust your system clock forward by one day to trigger a new island seed.

How to Find Entei on the Volcanic Dream Island

The Arcanine Doll takes you to the Volcanic Dream Island, a lava-cracked mountain that looks far more dangerous on the outside than it actually is inside. Head straight for the mountain entrance and descend through the cave passages. When you spot a corner sealed off by Lava Blocks, you've found Entei.

Smash through, take a moment to appreciate having a Fire-type Legendary in front of you, then speak to Entei to bring them back with you. Collect the 3x Rare Pokemetal from the pedestal before departing.

How to Find Suicune on the Wasteland Dream Island

Suicune hides on the Wasteland Dream Island, accessed via the Eevee Doll. Despite the unglamorous setting, the process is the same. Head to the rocky central area, enter the cave system, and walk until you spot Ice blocks blocking a passage. Ice is a rare material in Pokopia, so grab any loose pieces you see along the way.

Break through the ice barrier to reach Suicune, speak to them, and head back to Drifloon. The 3x Rare Pokemetal on the pedestal here is just as valuable as the other two, so make sure to collect it.

How Do You Know If a Legendary Dog Is Present?

Spawns are not guaranteed on any visit. Here's the most reliable way to check without wandering the entire cave system:

  • Open your Pokedex after arriving on the island.
  • Set the search filter to All with Location: This Area.
  • If a ? symbol appears in the results, a Legendary is present on that island.

If no ? shows up, the dog isn't there this visit. Return the next calendar day or use the system clock workaround to advance time.

info
The three dogs have no natural habitat type, which means once you bring them back to your village, they can be housed comfortably in Tall Grass without needing a specialized biome.

What Is the Reward for Befriending All Legendary Dogs?

Once all three dogs are living in your village, the game rewards you with the recipe for a Clear Bell. Players familiar with Pokemon Gold, Silver, Crystal, or the Gen 4 remakes already know exactly what this item leads to. The Clear Bell is the key ingredient required to befriend Ho-Oh, one of the rarest Legendary encounters in all of Pokemon Pokopia.

Beyond the Ho-Oh unlock, having Raikou, Entei, and Suicune as village residents is its own reward. These three are some of the most iconic Legendaries in the franchise, and watching them roam your Tall Grass habitat never gets old.

Happy ranching in Pokopia!
