Pokémetal is one of the rarest crafting materials in Pokémon Pokopia. This rainbow-colored metal is used in several late-game recipes, rebuilding projects, and special machines like the 3D Printer.

Because Pokémetal does not appear as often as other resources, players will want to know every reliable way to collect it. This guide explains how to get Pokémetal, where to find Pokémetal Fragments, how to smelt them, and what Pokémetal is used for later in the game.

How to Get Pokémetal

There are several ways to obtain Pokémetal in Pokémon Pokopia. Players can either find Pokémetal Ingots directly or gather Pokémetal Fragments and turn them into ingots using a Furnace.

Buy Pokémetal from the Pokémon Center Shop

One of the easiest ways to get Pokémetal is by checking the Pokémon Center PC shop. These ingots sometimes appear as shop items, especially in areas like the Withered Wasteland.

They usually cost a good amount of Life Coins, but this currency becomes easier to earn as players progress. Whenever Pokémetal appears in the shop—whether as a daily item or an environment reward—it is usually worth buying.

Find Pokémetal While Exploring

Players should always check the Poké Ball items scattered around each map. These collectibles can contain many things such as materials, furniture, or crafting recipes, and sometimes they also contain Pokémetal Ingots.

One early example can be found in the Withered Wasteland, near the area where players first meet Professor Tangrowth. Behind some vines, there is a small hidden spot that contains several Pokémetal pieces. Using the Cut Transformation clears the vines and allows players to collect the items.

Exploring thoroughly and collecting every Poké Ball item is one of the best ways to build a stockpile of Pokémetal early in the game.

Trade with Pokémon Vendors

Another reliable method unlocks later when players have a Pokémon with the Trade Specialty.

After building a Pokémon Center or placing a Cash Register, that Pokémon can open a small shop and trade items with the player. Pokémetal sometimes appears in these trades.

However, trades usually require items worth around 1,000 value. Because of this, it helps to bring plenty of common items. Crops work well since each crop typically has a value of around 50, making them an easy way to reach the required trade amount.

How to Get Pokémetal Fragments

Besides ingots, players can also collect Pokémetal Fragments, which are used to craft Pokémetal.

Fragments appear in special blocks that can be broken with the Rock Smash Transformation. To activate this ability at full strength, players need to eat a Hamburger Steak before breaking the blocks.

Some places where Pokémetal Fragment Blocks appear include:

  • Dream Islands accessed using the Dragonite Doll
  • The Sparkling Skylands
  • Small caves and hidden areas around floating islands

These blocks are not extremely common, but checking these areas regularly can provide a steady supply of fragments.

How to Smelt Pokémetal

Once players collect Pokémetal Fragments, they need to convert them into ingots.

This is done using a Furnace.

To operate the furnace, players must assign a Pokémon with the Burn Specialty. That Pokémon will process the fragments and smelt them into usable Pokémetal Ingots, which can then be used in crafting recipes and building projects.

What Pokémetal Is Used For

Pokémetal is mainly used for advanced crafting and rebuilding projects.

Several appliance-themed recipes require it, including items like:

  • Washing Machine
  • Fridge
  • Game Boy

These objects are needed to complete certain progression challenges, including the Team Initiation Challenge.

Pokémetal is also used to rebuild structures such as the Sparkling Skylands Pokémon Center and other large building blueprints.

One of the most important uses is the 3D Printer, which becomes available in rebuilt Pokémon Centers. The 3D Printer allows players to duplicate items shown in photos they capture. This makes it possible to reproduce rare collectibles, but each copy costs a small amount of Pokémetal.

What Is Rare Pokémetal

Rare Pokémetal is an upgraded version of the normal material. It is much harder to obtain and only appears occasionally.

Players have a small chance to receive Rare Pokémetal when breaking Pokémetal Fragment Blocks. Because the drop rate is low, collecting enough usually takes time.

Rare Pokémetal Uses

Rare Pokémetal is required for a few special late-game recipes.

Players will need it to craft the following items:

  • Tidal Bell
  • Transparent Bell

Each recipe requires five Rare Pokémetal, meaning players need ten total to craft both items.

Rare Pokémetal is also required when using the 3D Printer to duplicate certain rare objects such as unique flowers or special berry trees.

Final Tips for Farming Pokémetal

Since Pokémetal is uncommon, players should collect it whenever they see it. Checking shops regularly, exploring maps thoroughly, and farming fragments from Dream Islands will slowly build a strong supply.

Once players unlock the Furnace and the 3D Printer, Pokémetal becomes one of the most important materials in Pokémon Pokopia’s late game progression.

Happy ranching in Pokopia!
