The first method is by collecting natural Hot-Spring Water from areas where it already exists, such as caves in Rocky Ridges. Players can absorb the liquid and place it elsewhere once the proper ability is unlocked.
The second method involves using an item called Roserade Tea.
Roserade Tea can be obtained from a powered Vending Machine. The machine can be used once per day and gives a random item, which may include Fresh Water or Roserade Tea.
After drinking Roserade Tea, the player's Ditto temporarily stores liquid. This allows players to place Hot-Spring Water tiles wherever they want, letting them build the Hot-Spring Shower habitat in almost any location.

If players want to collect water directly from the environment instead of relying on vending machine items, they must unlock a special ability.
This ability comes from Wooper.
To start the process, players need to speak with Piplup, who gives a request involving the creation of a Waterfall. Completing this task leads to an interaction with Wooper, which teaches the player how to absorb and store liquids.
Once unlocked, this ability greatly expands terraforming options and makes it easier to move Hot-Spring Water from one location to another.
