Ditto gains several skills and transformations throughout Pokémon Pokopia, but players might notice one empty slot still sitting on the skill wheel even after unlocking most abilities. That missing ability is Magnet Rise, the final transformation in the game.
Magnet Rise is unlocked in the post-game, and it also turns out to be one of the most useful abilities for building and exploration. This guide explains how to unlock Magnet Rise, how to help Magnemite, and what the ability actually does.
How to Unlock Magnet Rise
Magnet Rise only becomes available after finishing the main story of Pokémon Pokopia.
Once the credits roll and the player loads back into the world, Ditto will return to the same location where the mysterious tower used to stand earlier in the game. After the ending events, the tower is gone and a large hole remains in its place.

Players may have explored this underground area earlier by entering from the ocean side of the metal structure, but after completing the story something new appears. A Magnemite can now be found there.
Talking to Magnemite starts a small quest. It asks the player to build a habitat so it can stay in the area. Completing this request unlocks the final transformation.
Build Magnemite’s Habitat
To help Magnemite, players must build the Factory Storage habitat. Most of the materials needed for this habitat can be found nearby, which makes the quest fairly quick to complete.
The required items are:
- Jumbled Cords ×1
- Streetlight (any type) ×1
- Metal Drum ×1
- Control Unit ×1

The Metal Drum and Jumbled Cords are located close to where the quest begins, so players can collect them immediately.
For the Streetlight, any variant works. Many players craft a Mushroom Lamp since it is easy to make and does not require electricity.
The last item, the Control Unit, requires a short trip. Players must travel to Sparkling Skylands, specifically the northeast island filled with ruined offices and buildings. A Control Unit can be taken from one of the structures there.
After collecting all the parts, return to the Withered Wasteland and place the Factory Storage habitat. Once the habitat is built, speak to Magnemite again to finish the quest.
Magnemite then teaches Ditto the Magnet Rise transformation.
What Magnet Rise Does
Magnet Rise transforms Ditto into Magnemite, giving the player a completely different way to build and interact with the world.
While using Magnet Rise, players can freely hover and move in all directions, which makes construction much easier. Instead of jumping around as regular Ditto, players can float around the area while placing blocks and furniture.

This transformation also acts like an advanced build mode. Players can quickly place structures, reposition objects, and collect materials much faster than normal. Magnet Rise even allows Ditto to absorb certain blocks and materials that could not be picked up before.
Because of these advantages, Magnet Rise is widely considered one of the most useful abilities in Pokémon Pokopia, especially for players who enjoy decorating their island or building large structures.
Why Magnet Rise Is Worth Unlocking
Magnet Rise is the final skill for Ditto and essentially serves as the game’s ultimate building tool. The ability to fly around construction areas, gather blocks efficiently, and place structures quickly makes a huge difference when designing habitats or improving the island.
This is also why many players recommend saving large building projects until after finishing the story, since Magnet Rise makes the process significantly easier.
Once unlocked, it becomes the best way to shape Pokopia exactly the way players want.
