Ice Blocks are one of the most elusive materials in Pokémon Pokopia, and plenty of players finish large chunks of the game without ever stumbling across a single one. That's a problem, because Ice is tied directly to a major end-game build that connects to Pokédex completion. Knowing exactly where to look, and how to set yourself up for a steady supply, saves a lot of frustration later.
Where To Find Ice Blocks in Pokémon Pokopia
There are exactly two sources of Ice Blocks in the game. One sits in the main world and is available as soon as you unlock a specific area. The other requires visiting a particular Dream Island via Drifloon. Both are worth knowing, since neither alone gives you an unlimited daily supply.

How Do You Get Ice Blocks in Palette Town?
Palette Town holds the single largest deposit of Ice Blocks in the entire game, tucked inside a hidden cave behind a waterfall. Here's how to reach it step by step:
- Unlock Rock Smash and break the wall to the left of the Withered Wasteland Pokémon Center.
- Head toward the beach. You'll spot a cave entrance to the right and a broken bridge pathway to the left.
- Rebuild the bridge on the left to access Palette Town.
- Once inside Palette Town, look for a small rocky structure visible in the distance from the entrance.
- Walk toward it, then circle around to the right-hand side until you see a waterfall.
- A Glow Mushroom glows faintly behind the cascading water. Step through the waterfall into the hidden passage.
- Follow the path inward until you reach a large chamber packed with Ice Blocks and Crystals.
This room contains hundreds of Ice Blocks, making it by far the most abundant source in Pokémon Pokopia. Break as many as you need, and stock up generously since this material is used for one of the game's most demanding builds.
How to Get Ice at Rock Peak Dream Island
The second source is the Rock Peak Dream Island, accessible through Drifloon's Dream Island system. This island reliably contains a small amount of Ice inside the rocky structure at its centre.
To visit this island, you need to bring the correct Doll. Specifically, you need the Clefairy Doll to unlock access to Rock Peak Dream Island.
How To Get the Clefairy Doll
There are two ways to obtain the Clefairy Doll:
- Find it randomly from the shiny glowing spots scattered across the ground throughout the game.
- Purchase it from the Pokémon Center Shop once you have raised Palette Town's Environment Level high enough.
Once you arrive at Rock Peak Dream Island, head into the rocky structure at the centre and dig deep. The Ice supply there is smaller than the Palette Town cave, but it refreshes on a daily cycle.

What Is Ice Used For in Pokémon Pokopia?
Ice Blocks serve two main purposes in Pokémon Pokopia:
- Freezing Chambers Kit: This is the primary reason to farm Ice. The Freezing Chambers is one of the game's biggest construction projects, and it's directly tied to Pokédex completion. Without it, finishing the Pokédex is not possible.
- Habitat and house decoration: Any leftover Ice can be used as a building block to construct homes for Pokémon or to decorate habitats, which contributes to Comfort and Environment Level gains.
Because the Freezing Chambers Kit demands a large quantity of Ice and significant cleared space, prioritising your Palette Town cave run early gives you a head start on what is otherwise a late-game bottleneck.
Quick Tips for Farming Ice Efficiently
- Visit Palette Town as soon as you unlock it and clear out the cave completely on your first trip.
- Bring Hamburger Steaks to maintain stamina during extended mining sessions deep in the cave.
- Check the Rock Peak Dream Island daily once you have the Clefairy Doll, even if the yield is small.
- If you're in a hurry, adjusting the in-game time to the next day (5am) resets Dream Island resources without waiting in real time.
- Save Ice specifically for the Freezing Chambers Kit before spending it on decoration, since the kit is required for full Pokédex completion.
